Hettich Drawer Channels & Runner Systems: Buying Guide

Overview

Hettich drawer channels (also called drawer slides or runner systems) are the mechanisms concealed beneath drawers that control how smoothly a drawer opens, closes, and carries load. Hettich's India online store offers a range of drawer channels across its KA, Quadro, and Actro runner families, sold individually as sets with published MRP and discounted pricing.

What It Does

Runner systems support the drawer box, guide its motion along the cabinet body, and determine load capacity, extension type, and closing behavior (normal, soft-close, or push-to-open). The right channel choice affects daily usability, noise level, and how much weight a drawer can safely hold.

• Homeowners and renovators replacing worn or noisy drawer slides
• Modular kitchen and wardrobe fabricators sourcing hardware for cabinetry
• Interior designers and carpenters specifying furniture hardware for residential or commercial projects
• DIY buyers looking for a specific channel height, load rating, or finish to match existing furniture

Buyer Questions This Page Should Answer

What are runner systems?

Runner systems are the movement mechanisms that let drawers open and close smoothly while supporting the required load.

Which runner systems does Hettich offer?

KA Drawer Runners, Quadro Concealed Runner Systems, and Actro Concealed Runner Systems — each targeting a different performance and price tier.

What are the advantages of Quadro Concealed Runners?

Concealed installation for a clean furniture appearance, exceptional stability, and smooth movement suited to premium cabinetry.

What is Push to Open Silent?

A technology that combines handle-less opening with Silent System closing, allowing drawers to open with a light push and close quietly without a handle.

Are Hettich runner systems suitable for heavy-duty use?

Yes. Load capacity varies by product series; listed channels here range up to 90 kg (e.g., the KA 4620 Over Extension Drawer Channel).

How do I pick a channel height or extension type?

Match channel height (34 mm, 37 mm, 46 mm, 58 mm) to the cabinet's internal drawer box clearance, and choose extension type (Full, Over, or Partial) based on how far the drawer needs to pull out.

Do these channels come with soft-close or push-to-open options?

Yes. The catalog includes Normal Closing, Soft Closing, and Push to Open variants across multiple KA series products.

Comparison Context

Within Hettich's own lineup, KA Drawer Runners are the standard/economy choice, Quadro adds concealed premium styling, and Actro is positioned as the top-tier option for maximum load capacity and precision. Buyers upgrading from basic runners typically move toward Quadro or Actro for quieter, more stable operation.
